Near West Volunteer Day - Signage

WHO:
For this I project I worked within a team of five classmates from our Take Root group.

WHAT:
We designed and developed a guerilla marketing campaign to help promote "Volunteer Day" for the neighborhoods of the Near Westside of Indianapolis on a non-existent budget. We gathered scraps of canvas from the wood shop and cut the pieces into different sizes, 11" x 17" and 8" x 5" (approx). The 11" x 17" will became the poster for outdoor placement and the 8" x 5" with pull-off cards will be for indoor locations.

WHEN:
Senior Year - Spring semester

WHY:
In the early stages of this promotional project we felt like the most productive way to raise awareness for the upcoming volunteer day event was to hit the streets - guerilla marketing style. We had a lot of fun taking on this project and it was exciting to be able to add my newly learned skill of screen printing into the mix. Additionally, the use of this method made the text on the posters look far cleaner than what we could have done by hand painting them. This technique also made the process much faster.

This project helped give me an understanding of basic business practices, including the ability to organize design projects and to work productively as a member of a team.
